I love the arts. Varied tastes, easier to say what I don’t like. I’ve never understood trad jazz. Love Classical esp early 20th century English composers. Peter Gabriel, bit of a folk rocker, Pink Floyd and much, much more! Art? VanGogh, Brueghel, Turner, Lowry. Books? Hardy atm. M.R. James. Films? Changeable / varied. Always loved Withnail and I, Spinal Tap.
Love my friends. Visits to old buildings -history etc. Love listening to/performing/writing music. Love concerts, theatre, cinema. Reading to/being read to is just wonderful. Films - lovelier shared. Love my dog, rescued from Macedonia. I didn’t borrow her for the photo btw! Love the natural world - I’m not a mad hiker and can be lazy! I’m very active and love the outdoors especially with dog. I also value peaceful/quiet times especially with someone special.
Sorry, but I’ll never go to a nightclub/disco. Don’t own a suit, don’t think I have a tie? That means casual? I prefer windy, atmospheric seascape walks to a beach, island etc. Not a sun-seeker. I don’t drink alcohol as I just feel ill with it nowadays. I don’t fit the male stereotype. Don’t like golf/football and don’t like sitting in pubs all night.
My years as a psychotherapist drives my service to others. I left the NHS after many years and now have my own therapy practice. I’m also a semi-pro musician. I have 3 grown up sons who live away & I love dearly. Love my old cottage in Wells - a beautiful, small, historic city. I moved to Somerset in 2002 from East Anglia, but my roots are from the far tip of Scotland.
I miss being with someone I can share adventures / experiences with again - to walk/talk/read with, watch a film/tv with, care for, reflect with, find peace with, learn from, inspire and be inspired by, admire, be close to, eventually love - and be loved. Don’t we all?
