About her
Kind, caring, thoughtful and active lady who is always curious and up for trying new things. I trained and worked as a nurse after a history degree (long story behind that one...) and am now happily retired with two amazing, independent adult children.
I love the great outdoors and keep fit walking my lovely dog and swimming several times a week. I live on the edge of some beautiful rolling countryside, so walks tend to be local but equally I’m always up for a hike through hills further afield or by the coast.
Very much into the arts – I love visits to the theatre, galleries, exhibitions, museums and concerts but music is particularly special, especially classical/opera, latin and soul. Playing the piano has been a big part of my life for very many years, both on my own for fun and accompanying groups of singers. I’ve also been involved in musical theatre and was recently cajoled into taking part in a village pantomime dancing the bossa nova and as the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. (Oh yes I was... see photos!)
Still fascinated by history - love exploring historic houses and gardens, and a new passion is volunteering as a Room Guide at a local NT property (which somehow seems to combine the history with a touch of amateur dramatics – how does that work?!).
I’ve lived abroad in Brussels and would like to travel more but the particular location matters much less than travelling with someone special and finding excitement in discovering new places together. Holidays off the beaten track hold a particular appeal, whether to more remote parts of Europe or destinations further afield but with the right person, I'd be very happy having quiet times at home or sharing weekends away in the UK.
My profile photo was taken in August 2025 and the others in 2024 with the exception of those featuring the dreaded Scarecrow and the best of 60s fashion(?!) at the pantomime in 2023.

I'm content with my own company but my life would be so much richer with a caring, kind and sensitive man who would be a best friend and so much more, happy to share my life and enjoy the good times together as well as dealing with the rubbish that life can occasionally throw in one's direction. Chemistry and that all important ‘spark’ would be key along with lots of open affection and a mutual respect for our previous circumstances, and if you can make me laugh, that's a very big 'tick' too!
