About him
I would like to spend more of my time with company, for socialising, dining, travelling and outdoor activities. I retired to Cumbria for easy access to the Mountains and walk them regularly, including the higher peaks but less so these days as motivation and fitness is a little more limited now and encouragement from a partner would make a huge difference to my lifestyle. In addition to walking the Lakeland Fells, I cycle for fitness and occasionally still run, I still ski downhill but no longer ski-tour or have any interest in other major mountain trips. Previously I skied the “Haute route” and completed “Le Tour de Mont Blanc”. I have no interest at all in completing the “Wainwrights” or indeed any other lists of Peaks which people tick off. Good luck to them but it’s not for me!
Similarly, I have quite a large windswept garden but do not really enjoy gardening. I do however, have the motivation and reputation to create nice gardens. I am embarrassed these days that I no longer remember names especially of plants, people tell me that they have the same issue but I do not think that it is of the same order that I experience, (some of the time anyway)!
About his ideal match
I think my ideal match would be a lady who is interested in walking the Fells and in other outdoor activities, perhaps including cycling, running or water-sports and! gardening. Otherwise I am clueless, as I consider that I am open to a diversity of backgrounds and experiences and in essence it is the indescribable ability to communicate easily with a partner for which I am looking, regardless of any other matters.
