About her
I'm a very easy going, friendly, down to earth, interesting, intelligent, energetic, independent woman with a great dog. After years of working my way up to the top of my career ladder, the pandemic made me realise how increasingly fast time has been passing by. It also made me decide to take early retirement, move closer to the sea and have time to do all sorts of fun things that I never had enough time for before. I've now ticked off the first two and although only just over a month since retiring am 'hard at work' on the third!
Traveling has always been one of my favourite things and I've been fortunate enough to have seen most parts of the world through work and/or holidays. I especially love traveling by sea and as you can see in my photos, I've recently returned from my first full-length cruise since before the pandemic (which was fabulous).
Back on shore, I've started to get involved in local activities - including both things I've always enjoyed and finding new ones that I might enjoy.
As a newly retired academic, I've been reading a lot (for pleasure instead of for work). I've also been discovering new walks and having more time to play with my dog, garden and doing DIY. Other interests include sailing, listening to live music, going to the cinema/theatre or pub and having lots of interesting discussions. After having moved to a new town after living in the same place for many years, it'd be great to meet someone local (or relatively nearby) to spend time with and perhaps even build a future with!
About her ideal match
Although no one could be an ideal match for me (or visa versa), some of the traits that I value include kindness, compassion, the ability to not take life too seriously, having a sense of humour, being interested in all sorts of things and not being a player. I only have two deal breakers which are smoking and not liking dogs.
