I'm somewhat straight-laced, I guess, but I enjoy cultural activities (theatre, classical music, etc). I have little interest in celebrity worship. I keep myself fit without being too obsessive about it. Now retired, I am seeking some new acquaintances, friends, maybe a new partner.
I'm interested in scientific subjects such as cosmology, modern physics, astronomy, technology, but I read quite a wide range of subject matter.
Since retiring (although I continue to work part-time in a consultancy role), I've been learning Spanish online, and I attend a weekly Tai Chi class. I'd really like to get an allotment going too. I feel that I am the beginning of something exciting rather than at the end of something, well, staid.

I'm looking for someone who doesn't take life too seriously, but can nevertheless empathise. The ideal person will have a significant overlap of interests, but is nevertheless happy to remain independent (at least for now).
Someone with well-developed and demonstrable opinions would be ideal, even if such opinions do not match mine - I love a delving debate as long as it doesn't become acrid.
I've still got enough fitness to enjoy physical activities, travel, walking, gardening, golf etc, and sharing these activities with someone would be lovely.
