About her
I'm a cautious optimist and an internationalist who loves culture, history and the arts, including ballet, opera and classical music; also historic environments, gardens and pets. I greatly value friends, family and travel. I'm an academic and interested in Big Ideas.
I was widowed three years ago after 35 years of marriage, and the pandemic made recovery harder, although it also gave me time to reflect. There are so many places to explore and experiences to have.

An ideal match would be someone with a well-developed sense of humour, an interest in other people, and a tolerant attitude to the world. An interest in travel, history and culture would be essential, and enjoyment of both urban and rural environments. I like to keep busy, but not frantically busy.
Activities would include concerts, exhibitions, trips to interesting destinations in the UK and abroad. Also relaxed meals and conversations. Tea and conversation in a nice garden can be wonderful.
