About him
I’m the guy who will read your Describe your ideal match, before I read about you. If you haven’t put much there . Why does this matter to me? Because many of those with little to say, have little interest in investing in a relationship. It may be a fun few months, but then it’s back to the beginning again.
I put personal values high on my list. What car you drive, where you eat and how many holidays you go on a year doesn’t make a relationship. I’ve been accused of almost everything psychotic I’ve ever heard of, but checking with DSM5 I don’t rate with any of them. Sure everyone has a few issues – mine are being too independent (i.e. lacking trust), OCD (I lack a house fairy that does everything for me), singleminded (never got anywhere by giving up). Apparently “What you see is what you get” is a maxim. How can a Mahler symphony be totally known with only one hearing, or to have understood everything in a Rembrandt – just with a quick glance?
As you have have guessed, if you are still reading, I study a lot. From philosophy, psychology, to oenology (a saving grace?), biochemistry and neurology. I am far from expert in anything, but conceited to think that I can hold a conversation about most things except popular culture. Now, nearly 2 decades without a TV – I really haven’t a clue!
I am happiest with my working in a vineyard, and the fun that harvest brings each year (grapes that is, and wine).
I love going to Glyndebourne, ROH, Saddlers Wells, Museums, Tate, …. It’s a great place to get to know someone and their tastes and discuss the deeper meaning of life the universe and everything. I enjoy going to Radio 3 / 4 recordings and live broadcasts.
I’m fit and strong that comes with and active job, as opposed to driving a keyboard (for too many years). I haven’t had covid – and will always respect others sensibilities regarding what they feel is safe. Just because I don’t want my life on hold forever, and want to make the most of every opportunity that comes along – doesn't excuse respect for others.

Who am I looking for?
Well that could be you! Your race, background, well pretty much anything (other than smoking) doesn’t matter. What matters are your values, how you act and relate to others. Yes, I’m sure that there are people one might not want in one’s own inner circle of friends, backing away gently is always perfectly acceptable action. However, being interested in everyone's story, and listening to what they have to say is a good starting place. Not everyone had a good start in life – many struggle, knowing what the appropriate response is comes with wisdom. My wish is you have that in bucket loads!
Dignity shines through – even in mucky clothes and wellies, graciousness when at full pomp likewise. And most important – humour to weld all the wonderful values you have together.
Tell me if you would rather die poor having had a life of fantastic adventures, or to sit in a comfortable coffin of your own making till the end finally comes. Tell me how you would like to spend what remains of your life, what risks you will take, and not keep account of the frogs that you have kissed – when the kiss of dawns first light is so difficult to better. Tell me of the emotional highs that music and art has given you; the deep contemplative thoughts of being challenged in your thinking. Make me believe you are truly alive and not chasing another unfulfilling experience.
