About him
Here's what his best friend says.
He has an extraordinary range of interests, the result of an enquiring mind & loving upbringing. The 1st thing you notice is his energy, lean athleticism, sense of playful fun.
He's not easy to get to know, but if you're open & engage on the same level he'll reveal depths & be a friend forever. Underneath the energy is a tender heart, able to cry as well as laugh, a brilliant teacher, keen to help, get close.
One of his adult children and he direct their own business based in Cambridge. He’s a person who loves what he does for a living.
A key aspect is dedication to his children, active support in all their varied activities. They do lots together, setting up businesses & websites, making things of all sorts, holidays together on boats or in the mountain house, playing sports, esp. sailing tennis & skiing. But they're grown up, with their own lives; he has space.
He's a passionate self-taught linguist, derived from a love of travelling "deep". We've done that many times together, often on hedonistic bicycle trips in Europe, but unlike me he's able to do business in many languages, including chinese, F It D Es.
Writing & invention feature large. Lately he's written extensively about life today in China, & helped create a new language learning method in Beijing to deal with the unique problems it brings. He's just written an entertaining distinctive book about playing bridge & he's invented a new online communications system that's being built by some clever people in Cambridge.
The tragedy is the death of his partner & mother of his children, a decent & creative woman with complimentary life interests.

About his ideal match
I'm not overly fussy about much really, except intelligence, emotional intelligence and integrity. And a good sense of the ridiculous when needed.
But being prescriptive feels wrong. Hopefully we'll have lots to learn & enjoy from each other, & plenty in common.

Above all, a friend. A partner to share interest, fun, passion for what's out there. Someone who wants adventure, doing & seeing new things. Someone giving, open to new ideas & plans, flexible, spontaneous, thoughtful. Someone warm, tactile, energetic & sexy, who knows that there is nothing better than spending a whole day in bed being utterly mutually indulgent.
In other words an intelligent, kind, lover of life with a conscience who needs to laugh, often at the same things I do!
Not much, really
