About him
I live alone because my first wife died in 2011 after 51 years of happy marriage, and my second wife had a severe stroke in 2019 after a few years of happiness together. She is in a local care home where I visit her several times a week, though she cannot move or speak. I still love her and want to keep visiting her for as long as necessary. All my children live a long way from me, but we keep in touch often and all get on very well with each other.
I sometimes feel lonely, so I belong to several groups, but I would like to find a special friend with whom to share mutual interests more regularly.
I am lucky to be fit and healthy for my age. The activities I like most are classical music (esp. BSO concerts and CDs,) trad jazz (live and CDs), cycling (now with battery aid) gentle walks, home cooking and eating out, word puzzles, and visiting my grown-up kids and their offspring when they can have me. I also like to visit friends in France and Germany occasionally.
I do voluntary work, help with litter-picking groups, and care about the environment. I am usually optimistic about the future. I don't watch or play any sport. I like witty TV comedies, some drama and documentaries.

I would like someone who is tolerant and caring, has a sense of humour, and who could be happy chatting or being silent together.
She would need to be sensitive regarding my wife's predicament,. I am the only visitor she gets, and I will keep seeing he..
Ideally we would each have our own interests as well as sharing some. I envisage that we would live independently but meet regularly.
If all this sounds too restrictive I'm open to discussing other ideas.
