Composer of classical music (BM, MA, PhD in music composition), classical guitarist, painter, aesthete (in the best sense), lovable rogue & amiable zany (Woody Allen "What's Up Tiger Lily?" references) and retired software developer interested in the Good Life...Aristotle's version NOT Robin Leach's.
Even-tempered, genial, old school (good manners & civility are very important to me), down-to-earth with a great sense of humor, interested in the performing and fine arts, literature, philosophy, history, fitness.

My main passion is classical music; composing, listening to and playing (classical guitar). Favorite composers: Haydn, Beethoven, Bach, Mendelssohn, Vaughan Williams, Schubert. (The only live music in which I am interested is classical.)
Painting is my other creative artistic passion. I work in acrylics & oils. Favorite painters: Caravaggio, David, Magritte, de Chirico, Dali, Sage among many others. My profile pics include 4 of my paintings.
I enjoy dance (I was executive director of a professional dance company for 7 years), museums, and the theater.
Books: primarily the Great Books, including history, the arts, philosophy and biography.
Cinema: As I have VERY LITTLE interest in contemporary popular culture, I seldom find a movie that interests me. If I do, it is typically what I call a 'handmade' movie (art house) as opposed to a 'factory' (mainstream) one.
Contemporary pop culture exception: the brilliantly funny Mystery Science Theater 3000.
