About her
I desperately need a bit of intellectual stimulus and a bit of fun! Love talking about history, politics, economics, the arts etc. Love a good debate and putting the world to rights - (which seems somewhat more pressing these days)! I like Johnathan Sumption's measured thinking and the tender, mystical, revelatory abstractions of Debussy and Messiaen. I am very curious and interested in other people's areas of expertise no matter how complicated or arcane. Can be lively on a good day despite the usual insecurities! Dismayed to discover I have become rather alienated and terribly bored... brain beginning to atrophy! I trained as a dancer and I used to love acrobatics and writing poetry, but too cynical now. I would love to meet someone similarly jaded for calm companionship, connection and exploration. Despite a sense that I am only half formed, I still have an irrepressible faith that it may be possible, one day, to explore an inner depth with another human being that so far has eluded me, except, maybe in my early childhood. Failing that, the occasional bracing walk, theatre visit or pub lunch would be wonderful. Relaxing? What's that? Far too much to stress about! Someone I could relax with would be the Holy Grail! My outlook is that life has shifted under me and I seem to have become less and less able to maintain a facade of conformity. Probably doesn't help that it was never something I was aiming for in the first place! Bit late now!
edit: I think what I would like is to have fun, go on dates and find some good friends and interesting male company. I have significant caring responsibilities during school holidays, so I am not really available then. All the rest of the time, I just want to forget.

Pretty sure I don't have an ideal match. I don't think I am anyone else's ideal match! I would love to meet someone kind and interesting who is as tired and alienated as me. I like skinny, reserved nerdy types! Friendship would be wonderful! Someone who is interested in reflecting on the implications of things maybe? I am curious and interested in all sorts of people. Activities, hmm. Probably happy to try most things. Not bungee jumping though. Will edit this (again) later!
further edit: anyone who is trying to find someone with no baggage should not pick me! I am proud of the fact I have made it through an exceptionally challenging life, and not without it making its mark on me as well as sculpting and developing my inner resources. I do like carrying my own baggage and have done so for many years. I would love to find companions, maybe even with baggage of their own, to share the respite when I put my baggage down by the oasis...
