Since Covid I have travelled, (never call it holidaying, prefer to call it an Adventure), visited alone Malta, mainland Spain, Lanzarote and Perth, Australia.
Lived 6 years in New Zealand, but decided not the place for me to live for the rest of my life, too far from the real world. Mind you on return covid arrived two months later, so lockdown destroyed all plans.
I must admit I find the English climate hard going so love seeking the sunny days.
I have been widowed 13 years and certainly miss a female companion, friend. Always enjoyed talking to a lady, prefer a one to one conversation, rather than in a group, but not against a social gathering.
Soon after leaving full time education I was conscripted into the army for two years National Service. During that period I visited 13 foreign counties, my main stations being Singapore, Malaya, Arabian Peninsula and Germany. Whilst abroad a penfriend relationship resulted in marriage 5 years later.
On returning home I was unable to settle so I joined the London Metropolitan Police, walking the beat in Piccadilly Circus area, Soho and Mayfair, quite a variation of clientele.
Transferring to a rural police force upon marriage we moved house 9 times during my career. My service was very varied from dealing with poachers to instructing police recruits on secondment at a police training centre.
During my service I had the honour and privilege to talk to and shake the hand of the King when he was Prince Charles and also introduced to Queen Elizabeth on her visit to the opening of the Police Headquarters where I then served.
Hope I have given you a little insight of the sort of guy I am. Fortunately fit and healthy and within my mind and soul I am about 26 years young.
