I like to think that I'm essentially optimistic, thoughtful and forward- looking - I certainly relish the company of good friends and look for the positives in most situations - even a first date...
Increasingly, I value the peace and contentment of living in the countryside but I'm a Londoner at heart, and am often drawn back there for nights at the theatre, concerts and exhibitions.
A French and Italian speaker, I regularly travel to Europe and beyond, to indulge in great food and soak up the atmosphere, but the North Cornish coast in winter is also a special place for me.
I enjoy supporting young people in my work - they keep me on my toes - and Radio Four and podcasts are my daily companions.
You probably will be a music-lover - singing plays a big part in my life - both in classical choirs and as a performer with a ukulele band - I love the serenity and sense of togetherness you get from one and the joyful absurdity of the other.
