So in telling you about myself it will give you an idea just what sort of man I am searching for.
I keep in pretty good shape with Yoga and Pilates: I value staying supple, and I can still do The Plough, rather than focus on being able to sprint a 100 m. Plus I have a garden to look after and a Labrador to walk each day. I have just had two cataracts removed so my vision is OK too. Blood Pressure 12 over 6.
I once worked as a Charter Cook in the Caribbean and I still love to cook and entertain. That might be people dropping by for a coffee or a proper lunch or supper party. The new love of my life will need to have enough conversational French to be able to handle socialising in French or English. I despise English people who have moved to France and remain in their little conclaves making no effort to either learn the language or integrate into French society
I do enjoy red wine, so unless I have visitors, my usual week is to have no alcohol from Monday to Thursday and drink at the weekend. I prefer to have one bottle at 15 Euro rather than three at 5 Euro.
Television: The News and David Attenborough are essential. Quizzes: University Challenge and Only Connect. Soaps and reality TV are all an absolute NO apart from The Traitors, which I only started watching with the first Celebrity edition and found it really fascinating. Drama: In the last few years there have been some really good series: Shetland, The Night Manager, The Queen’s Gambit there are a few others but this will give you an idea of my viewing.
Hopefully you will enjoy a game of Backgammon, Chess, Cards, Rummicube or even Uno
I go to quite a few concerts at a small local venue, mainly Jazz and Classical groups and I have a Sonos system in my house.
