About her
I am told my friends would say I am outdoorsy, kind, intelligent, wise and have a sense of humour. I like food and cooking, daily walking my three Flatcoated Retrievers, reading, history (I am a retired history teacher), learning to play the piano, listening to Classic FM, and going to classical performances, especially opera. I also love a good movie at the cinema, going to art exhibitions and visiting stately homes. I have been very sporty all my life - I have been a snow and water-skier, a horse owner and rider, I have enjoyed swimming, windsurfing, and running but now, having worn various bits of me out, confine my sporting activity to swimming and walking. I do not like bullies, cheats, chauvinism, being patronised, bad manners, BO, liars or big headedness. In the evenings I like to do my piano practice then cook a meal from scratch (Mediterranean, French and Indian being favourite cuisines), followed by watching a film or drama on TV in front of my blazing Woodburner. My view of life is that we must make the most of every day, because we never know what is round the corner!

I'm looking for a companion (or maybe more!?) to share long walks with, holidays at home and abroad, to cook meals for and to go out for dinner with, and for outings to interesting places. He would have many things in common with me (see above), and be kind, considerate, thoughtful, gentlemanly, intelligent, educated and well-spoken. I cannot abide golf addicts, excessive socialising and baldness (a bit of thinning is ok though).
