About her
I am independent and enjoy and embrace life. I think (hope) my friends would say I am a genuine, lovely, kind person. While I’m not 100% sure of what I’m looking for, it would be lovely to make new memories, small and big, with someone who shares some of my interests.
I retired a couple of years ago. I worked solely to earn money since moving back to this area from Surrey some 14 years ago. I have a PhD in Cancer Research which I did at the Royal Marsden Hospital eons ago and worked for a time in clinical trials.
Today, I am a regular volunteer where I live, this is an important part of me, and I love what I do. I enjoy learning and am currently studying in the hope of becoming a volunteer tour guide. I enjoy walking, especially at the sea, and prefer being far from the madding crowd, although love cities for culture (concerts, galleries etc). I am fortunate not to look my age (I inherited good genes), but these days I feel like I am getting old. I had an ankle problem which became a hip problem, and am in the process of rebuilding my fitness and mobility for walking etc. It's been frustrating and ageing. I would like to explore more of the UK one day, and I've been thinking about a camper van (and a dog!)
I love classical music, big choral works, ballet, films, and reading. If you enjoy cooking and eating good food, with a glass of wine and good coffee, especially al fresco in good weather, watching the sunset and watching the stars, HELLO 🤩.
