About him
I love learning but am now mostly an autodidact as formal courses turn something I love into drudgery. Currently I am experimenting planning some physics writing for next year while sorting out heart problems this year. I like people but not crowds. I listen to music all the time - everything from Bach to Peggy Gou via Light in Babylon, favourite genres include film music and Christmas Carols. My favourite piece of music since age 9 has been 'The Blue Danube' and whenever I hear it I think of spaceships, my favourite pop song is Joni Mitchell's 'Both Sides Now', and the piano is my favourite instrument. I would love to sing but can't. When I watch a film the music is as important as the photography. My favourite film is '2001' which changed my life. I love science fiction and have interests in physics, maths, psychology, and education and recently history. Walking is a hobby and I enjoy looking at buildings as well as nature. I am left of centre, support women's rights, and LGBTQ+ rights without exception, as well as the equality of all ethnic groups, avoiding endless arguments about these things and about Evolution is why I have asked to meet a non religious woman. I love London's diversity. I have bags of empathy and can be good at talking to people in distress - having been on both sides. I like telling people their good points and have been described as warm and kind by someone with a good sense of humour. I've always been a square peg in a round universe - as a good friend joked I was born blue and went downhill from there! :) In the 17th Century Francis Bacon wrote 'There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion', my little bit of 'strangeness' is best explained in the film 'A Beautiful Mind' or the TED talk by Eleanor Longden available online - but please don't stop any meds you might be on. I can be serious but do have a sense of humour and can lighten up when in company...... I'd just like someone new to lighten up with as over the years many friends have moved away.

If you like the lyrics of John Lennon's 'Imagine' then I like you regardless of what follows! I am looking for a local(ish) non religious woman to chat with over coffees etc and to go for walks with - perhaps to museums/art galleries or a park, and have long conversations with. There is nothing spiritual in superstition. Recently I went to a concert at LSO St Luke's and would love to do that again, perhaps you can give me an excuse to visit the Barbican or South Bank. If you have limited mobility we can find a substitute for walking :) I hope to meet someone with academic, cultural, or artistic/musical/creative interests to pursue, but people surprise me all the time. I admire people with good 'people' skills and love warmth. When I meet someone while I might daydream, having a coffee is just having a coffee - my default state is' friendship until proven otherwise.' The 1984 Dune film says "A beginning is a very delicate time"! I like belief in having a purpose. If you have a story I'd love to hear it. Do you have a good sense of humour and an acute appreciation of the absurd? If like me you have a limited income too that would be perfect! xxx. Sometimes I like the profiles of people who I don't expect to like mine - simply because they have good profiles, people don't have to like me for me to like them - life is just easier that way so please don't worry. :) Of course everyone dreams. :) xxx My friends are part of the package as I expect your friends to be. I am happy to give a DVD copy of the film 'A Beautiful Mind' to anyone I meet! :) My experience has been that most of the women here are kind - but if you are reticent to get involved with someone with mental health issues I do understand how you feel and wish you well xxx
