About her
I am of a happy and optimistic disposition, warm-hearted, affectionate and fun (I hope). I am happiest outdoors - gardening, or walking with my new, energetic puppy and cycling through the lanes (not simultaneously, though that could be interesting). I believe that everyone has good in them. I value kindness, consideration and integrity. I am not moody and will always be honest. Friends kindly say I'm a catch and appear genuinely surprised that I haven't been snapped up!
I like being creative and to achieve something each day, however small. Painting, woodworking, leatherwork, learning Italian (started!), cookery lessons, finally reading all my coffee-table books and keeping fit are amongst my plans for retirement, which started at the end of June. Love it already!
I am not a party-animal, preferring socialising with good friends. I enjoy intellectual banter, classical music, jazz, some rock/pop, playing the piano, reading the Guardian/Observer and doing the cryptic crosswords/Scrabble. I always have at least one novel on the go, and enjoy The Arts/National Trust/English Heritage. I have a swish new road bike and love cycling. I also have a new (2010) Mazda MX5, which I simply adore driving with the roof down and music playing. I am passionately anti-Tory, Farage and right-wing populism.
I have two wonderful sons (27y and 23y) with whom I am very close and inordinately proud of. The oldest is a professional horse-rider, the younger has just finished his degree.
I have a weakness for holidays in the Seychelles, but with with that exception, the climate crisis means I will be exploring all the riches of the British Isles and Europe.
I can stand on my own two feet, but would so much prefer to have someone dear walking alongside me - in addition to my new Vizsla puppy, that is!
