Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is knowing not to put a tomato in a fruit salad.
The population of the UK can be divided into two types of people (1) those that think foxes are cute (2) those who keep poultry.
I like ideas, and I like discussing them with intelligent, witty, creative, free-thinking women.
My ambitions/goals/aspirations are as follows – avoiding stress; avoiding clichés; not becoming a cliché; not becoming fat; not getting stuck at the Dartford crossing.
Beliefs: behave towards others as you would prefer them to behave towards you. Think global: act local. Don’t subscribe to any belief that probably can’t be supported by evidence (eg NASA landed men on the moon – yes. There is life after death – no.)

Habits: I play musical instruments for at least an hour every day. I write music. I also write words. I also paint. I support Ukrainian refugees with free online English tuition. I make things out of reclaimed timber. I watch films on DVD. I have uploaded an e-book on Kindle. It's called "The Highland Ghillie's Diary" by Harry Churchill. At only £1 it's a bargain at half the price.
In my small-time way, I try to be an inspiration to others. Failing that, I try to make them laugh, or maybe just smile.

Do you think that attractiveness is a quality that defies quantification?
I have a friend who argues that we can never improve at relationships because every relationship is unique – so experience doesn't help. I think my friend has a point, but I prefer to think that we can improve at relationships in as much as we can get to know ourselves better, and since we are each half of a relationship we each have the potential to be better at our half, at least. What do you think?
About his ideal match
If such a thing as the ideal match exists I suspect that it's not a formula - it's a feeling. OK (psychopaths aside) all successful relationships probably demand respect, consideration, sensitivity, attention, compromise and careful maintenance – but, that said, an essential ingredient of a good relationship is that we are able to be ourselves. And a positive relationship is one where each party brings out the best in the other. My "ideal match" is therefore someone who being-with makes me into a better person. I'm not sure how that would work the other way round because I don't have much sense of how being with me would bring out the best in someone - that's for the someone to figure-out for themselves. Probably (at least in my case) similar values (especially moral values) are essential. I have, for example, a massive aversion to dishonesty. I am also unusually unmaterialistic; I am not one of life's consumers, so I probably could never be entirely comfortable in the company of someone who would happily add to their collection of thirty two pairs of shoes rather than buy a meal for a hungry child who had no shoes at all. Also, until the half of the world that is malnourished is being decently fed I will not feel entirely comfortable with recreational eating, although I may be willing to compromise in the right circumstances.
