About her
Others describe me as kind and thoughtful with great capacity to listen to whoever needs to be heard. I have just qualified as a counsellor/therapist where I can hone that skill further. I used to be a maths teacher and enjoyed getting to know my students (both adult and teenage) so that they trusted me enough to break through their fears of learning the subject.
Socially I am very friendly and get on with most people. Neither introvert nor extrovert, I can enjoy my own company (not excluding the cat) as well as enjoy hosting a musical soiré with good food, good wine (preferably champagne!) and plenty of laughter.
I do have a tendency to put others before myself but I am working to improve on my own self-care.
I sing as a sop1 in a SATB choir of 40 members, early music, not all to my taste but I do enjoy the camaraderie and learning new pieces. I sang Panis Angelicus in public as a duet with my daughter recently, she's way better at singing than me but it was a special moment. I am teaching myself to play the piano - around grade 4 at present, it's slow progress!
You may not be surprised to know I love going out to concerts, especially piano recitals. Attending The Last Night of the Proms is a wish.
I used to be a good tennis player (note the past tense!). I enjoy short walks and being amongst nature.
I am interested in the world of Art, love to see exhibitions, I was once good at art.
Eating out with friends is a must from time to time.
I enjoy gardening, especially growing veg. I also write and have begun to write a book.
People cannot believe the age I am. I must have got my birth date wrong.... yes I am ten years younger than this site is telling you!

Goodness me, this is a difficult one to name. I do believe chemistry is an important part of what makes a relationship go well. But at the same time there are the ground rules such as being genuinely yourself, open and honest to the core (except if you want to hide my birthday present somewhere secret for a while). Being the real you would be important to me but a desire to be respectful and kind is equally important. I think when people first meet it is natural to show our best self at the start but I don't like show-offs. Taking an interest in me would feel special.
The activities I would like to share the most would be to go out to theatre, cinema, or concert hall combined with a meal out at a lovely restaurant.
I do appreciate a man with high intelligence!
