About her
I’m a semi-retired professional still involved with my practice, which keeps me active and engaged, but I’m getting good now at passing clients to younger colleagues and making more time for myself and my friends. I’ve always had many diverse interests, and I’m now enjoying spending more time on those, including more travel and lots of volunteering. It would be nice to find a like minded companion to share our remaining years, time is accelerating in a most disconcerting manner and experiences are much more fun when shared.
I think my friends would say I’m intelligent, hard working, generous with my time and talents and good company. I usually have at least one initiative on the go. I prefer to dress informally and I’m happiest in smaller communities where I can make myself useful. I like being near water or nature and many of my interests reflect that. I sing and act, I have a share in a narrowboat syndicate, I race a small boat and I really do try to keep my allotment and garden in some sort of order! Nature-friendly gardens make for a great excuse.
I value honesty, loyalty, compassion, an open mind and intelligent engagement with the world. We live in interesting times and I hope to spend many more years exploring places and ideas, hopefully with my soulmate.

I think it’s best not to have preconceived ideas about who you’ll gel with. An open and enquiring mind, an intelligent outlook, a decent moral compass and a reliable and conscientious disposition are far more important than outward appearance, status or wealth.
It takes time to get to know someone and chemistry isn’t always instant. If it looked like we might get on, I’d want to keep up the conversation while we got to know each other a bit better. I’d try not to make assumptions in the meantime. I’m not likely to move areas, as I’m so deeply engaged my local community, but I’m open to a relationship involving some mutual travel and quality time spent together.
