About her
I have been finding it challenging to write about myself at this point in my life when there is so much history to share and hopefully lots of self knowledge as well to put out there to find someone who might be important in my life, but here goes.
I am an East Coaster, born and bred in New York City, who fell in love with the American west as an adult on road trips with my husband, two sons and a daughter, now all grown with families of their own. ( I adore them and my 4 young grandchildren, all living in CA)
For several summers when they were growing up in NJ, we took road trips for one month; camping, hiking, cooking, playing games, singing and reading as we traveled from one National Park to another as far as Alaska, writing journals and totally appreciating what we found in nature. That range of travel extended a few times to road trips in France, Spain, and Peru.
I am a musician with heart and soul, finding joy and wonder in what I heard from my very early years. I still have vivid memories of dancing on the lawn at Tanglewood, a music festival when I was 4 years old. I have been a piano teacher for over 20 years, and from finding music that excites my students, I have broadened my enjoyment of different genres of music beyond my classical pleasures; jazz, singer songwriters, movie music, oldies, etc.
I am a passionate person with a fair degree of intensity which I have no problem being teased about. I also seriously love to laugh and have no problem making fun of my own foibles. If you were at a movie that tickled the audience, you’d be able to hear my guffaws loud and clear with gusto.
I could write about all that most of us desire in an intimate relationship; I’ve read the bios of nice guys, some great, but for me, the one needs to be passionate about music, the arts, the planet, beauty in nature, shared values about the kind of world we want for our kids, and more, of course.
