About him
Although a bit long in the tooth now, I'm reasonably fit and can fully enjoy an active life. Interests include travel and exploration of cities, seascapes and landscapes both home and abroad. I’m particularly drawn to wild terrains such as the North West Scottish Highlands. The colours, textures, smells and feel of the fantastically beautiful (but fragile) natural world inspire me and impart a love of life.
I enjoy music, be it classical, folk or other genre - there’s no boundary. I love singing either as a member of a large choir appreciating the great classical choral masterpieces, or at the other extreme, the simple beauty of a folk song sung as part of a small community choir.
I also have a love of woodworking and sell my creations to support charitable causes.
My family is also a life affirming love, watching and enjoying the development of my grandchildren, helping where I can to give active support to parents struggling to cope in an increasingly demanding world.
I have as well had sadness in my life having to love and care for a terminally ill soulmate and enduring the aftermath of desolation and loneliness which inevitably comes with bereavement.
In spite of everything I have never lost my hope and optimism and would love to find a companion to love and look after and to share whatever lies in the future.

This is impossible to put into words! Photographs can give some idea of a potential match but the moment of truth will always be that first face to face meeting. I can only give a few pointers here:
Perhaps someone who is a bit of a dreamer with a sense of romance and broadly sympathetic with my interests and outlook.
Someone independent of mind and spirit, needing your own space and having separate interests, but also capable of sharing others, and most of all needing love and returning that love in your own unique way.
Someone who can turn to me (and who I can turn to) when needing comfort and support after suffering one of the inevitable hard knocks that life delivers.
Someone with a good sense of fun (enjoying playfulness and light hearted banter). A good sense of humour is essential in any close relationship.
