About him
I retired from a career in IT service provision for the public sector. While I enjoyed my work, it was a great conversation stopper at social events! . Now a volunteer two days a week. This doubles as my keep-fit. I also help with a heritage narrow boat, which we use for educational purposes, and for booked groups. I will take my passenger helm exam next spring.
I have a taste for travel, but not to the popular places. Love Scandinavia, Cyprus, Turkiye, China, Iceland, Canada.
I love any live performances - theatre, opera, ballet, classical and contemporary music. Notorious for wicked sense of humour and (when required) a loud voice. I have 3 modes of transport totalling 10 wheels (excluding spares 😁). I like dining out, travel and talking to people. Family are all in UK but not local, friends all local.
Good at ungardening - I chop things down, dig things up and cut them back. Not good at 'proper' gardening.
I am ready to venture into the dating arena - it's been a long time since the last foray, but I would like to find a special someone to enjoy the fantastic (and the mundane!)
My dislikes? - lies, deviousness, large groups, football, cucumber.

My ideal match would be articulate, confident and positive. A slightly whacky sense of humour is needed to put up with me! She must like at least some of the same things as I do, and equally should have her own interests. Not allergic to cats, as my moggie would complain! Perhaps join me on a train to Istanbul - a plan for 2025 - one of my very favourite cities.
