About him
I am an optimistic, young-at-heart man, looking for an upbeat and energetic woman. I should wear glasses; so sometimes need longer arms when reading the newspaper. I would describe myself as funny (I like to tell jokes), loyal, and giving. I treat people with honesty, respect, and empathy. I dislike unkindness in all its forms and am looking for someone similar. My career (38 years teaching) was important to me, but now I’m retired so is my leisure time. The outdoors has always been my great love with walking and sport being my favourite activities. For exercise and enjoyment, I play football twice a week. If my mind and body were sent a memo about getting old, they didn’t get it. Travel has always been important to me (mostly to countries in Europe and North Africa) learning about new cultures. I have several countries on my bucket list: Italy, Greece, and Spain. My interests are not all outdoors. I generally prefer classical music and attend concerts whenever I can. I recently reintroduced myself to opera (long story). Before the Pandemic, I used to sing in choirs (one for forty years). I also like some classic pop music and love to dance but rarely get the opportunity. Nobody enjoys a good film or theatre play as much as I do. I love cooking (the Chemist in me) and can do most jobs around my house.
