About him
I am an optimistic, young-at-heart man, seeking an upbeat and energetic woman. I've had to admit defeat and now wear glasses when reading. I'm loyal, giving, and have a good sense of humour. I treat people with honesty, respect, and empathy. I dislike unkindness in all its forms and am seeking someone like-minded. My career (38 years teaching) was important to me, but now I’m retired, so is my leisure time. The outdoors has always been my great love, with walking and sport being my favourite activities. For exercise and enjoyment, I've combined my two passions to play walking football (exactly as it sounds) twice a week. If my mind and body were sent a memo about getting old, they didn’t get it. In other words, growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional. Travel has always been important to me (mostly to countries in Europe and North Africa), and learning about new cultures. I have several countries on my bucket list: Italy, Greece, and Spain. My interests are not all outdoors. I generally prefer classical music and attend concerts whenever I can. Recently, I tried to reintroduce myself to opera, but remain undecided (long story). Before the Pandemic, I used to sing in choirs (one for forty years). I also like some classic pop music and love to dance (without needing alcohol). Good films or theatre plays also tick my boxes. I enjoy cooking and entertaining. I’d love to meet someone in London to share my passion for life and appetite for new experiences.

My ideal partner (I doubt that any woman on Earth would tick all the boxes) has grown up, is open and non-defensive and lives with integrity. She is sensitive, understanding, expressive and affectionate with a great sense of humour. She is intelligent, courteous, and kind. Being trustworthy and reliable is non-negotiable.
