About her
I’m a young person in an aging body. Open to new ideas and experiences (unless they involve open water!). I love the theatre, cinema, the arts generally, reading, cryptic crosswords and other puzzles. I’m a good cook and really enjoy cooking for friends but when eating alone a glass of wine and a bag of crisps sometimes fits the bill.
I’m reasonably fit but don’t go in for marathons. A walk in the country or at the coast satisfies my desire for exercise, particularly when I can walk and talk at the same time!
I have plenty of exercise looking after my grandchildren on a regular basis.
Family is very important to me, as are my relationships with friends. I live with two very naughty ginger cats, whom I love dearly, except when presented with dead pigeons…
I’m loyal and supportive but have a wicked sense of humour. I find laughter usually defuses a difficult situation.
I enjoy foreign travel but as I’m solvent but not filthy rich, Europe is my destination of choice.
I’m not looking for man of the year, but he has to be intelligent and educated with a good sense of humour. Those are my only non-negotiable criteria.
About her ideal match
This is more difficult. I miss the intimacy of a one to one relationship. My ideal match is someone who is affectionate, who can articulate his thoughts and feelings, who doesn’t drone on about his illnesses - let’s face it, at our age creaking is inevitable and whilst we can acknowledge there are bits that no longer work properly, we can talk about more important things.
A sociable man to whom family is important. Someone who is happy just to go out for a drink, to go to the theatre, go for a walk, eat out or spend an evening in cooking together.
I don’t want to be joined at the hip with someone. I’m not really interested in sport, so I would be very happy doing my own thing during football or rugby matches etc.
I think respect for another person is vitally important. I don’t like people who are overbearing and can’t stand bullies. Hope that’s enough to work with?
