I'm positive minded and optimistic in my outlook but also grounded with a degree of realism. I’m quietly confident and get things done without fuss and bother. If I say I’ll get something sorted, then it will happen in a timely manner. In a nutshell you get a down to earth chap who’s a considerate, thoughtful and caring person. Respect, patience, understanding, sincerity and laughter come with the package!
My children have their own families and are still an important part of my life. However, I feel I have a lot to offer a new person in my life. I can’t say I’m a social butterfly but I much prefer having company to share time with.
I have the usual interests for my peer group - socialising with friends, dinner, film, cooking, travel and the outdoors. I think it's important to look after ourselves as the years go by so I make time not only for walking but also swim or cycle to keep fit.
I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many places through work and for leisure. Now retired, I’m willing to undertake any adventure from a city break to a part of the world with unique natural beauty or phenomena.
Although it’s nice to get out and do things, I’m equally happy in and around the home chatting over a meal about our day…

I can‘t say I have a particular expectation of an ideal partner – it’s a two way thing and depends so much on that interaction. I do believe that you’ll know quite quickly if there is a chance for something more than an acquaintance.
Having some common interests is good but furthering your own interests is also important.
