Hi (its me again)
I am very new to this dating process and when I looked at my words for this section the other day, whilst they were honest and truthful, it like more a job application rather than words to catch your eye.
So tried to make them more personable (and will let you be the judge) but still honest .
I literally fully retired from last week I was a civil engineer working in UK rail projects (but note not a train spotter). However I want to remain very active; am a member of an art class, undertake some volunteering, attend gym regularly and enjoy watching sport, albeit watching Fulham can be less enjoyable
With more time on my hands I want to do more travelling. In 2 weeks am off to Ireland for a few days with my brother and then in September I have a holiday painting- art not decorating - in Crete (never been there before). In the process of planning more trips maybe France, Spain but not the tourist bits, Italian lakes.. One day maybe to Australia...Maybe you could help?
I enjoy history and related sites as well as culture (theatre, opera, cinema and art galleries). I do enjoy reading and love libraries and Waterstones. I am open to try new things (but maybe not horse riding after a comical experience years ago)
I don't mind DIY. I like train journeys or driving to interesting places, walking in the country or along the coast.
I am definitely not into a pipe and slippers.
I could write about how I like to laugh, that I am a warm person and care about people, which I genuinely do (especially my family after the last few years); but at the end of the day you are the most important person to decide that.
I believe I am a half glass full person, that life is too short and if there is an opportunity to share and enjoy it with the right person then we should give it a go.

I guess I would say someone who is warm, loving, patient and understanding and with a good sense of humour.
I value honesty, loyalty and above all kindness.
Positivity but realism
Someone who is strong but also feminine.
Strong opinions are OK but it is important to know when to compromise.
Whilst it will be lovely to do things together I also think it is important to respect the other persons different interests if they wish to pursue them. We should grow together and be entwined rather than stunt each other's growth.
Anyone who would accept me as I am and would like to join me on the the next steps in life’s great plan, be that friendship or something more..
So if we meet up for a coffee or a walk and decide maybe its not for us then we can part with a smile and a good luck; but on the other hand we decide we click then them possibilities are endless.
