About him
I am quite a sociable person, not a party animal but love stimulating conversation. Equally comfortable on my own out in nature.
I was an outdoor education teacher until I retired and still love the outdoors. When forced indoors by weather I’m an avid reader and listener to music; my tastes are very catholic from classical to hard rock via folk and blues.
Outdoors I like walking (when my arthritic knee allows and usually with my dogs), cycling (electric only these days), swimming and canoeing.
Indoors I love the theatre and a good pub especially if it includes a meal out with a friend/friends and/or a pub quiz. I also enjoy writing and have had guide books and magazine nature articles published.
I believe that life after retirement is a privilege to be savoured and made the most of and it’s even more enjoyable when you share it with a kindred spirit.

My ideal match would be someone kind, empathetic and laid back but with an adventurous streak and a sharp sense of humour.
For our relationship to work we would both need to be honest and not demanding of each other. Sharing parts of our lives but also allowing the other person space for their own interests, friends and family.
I would love a like minded partner for live music/theatre, holidays, world travel, enjoying the English countryside and meals out.
