I like to think I am kind and generous with a sense of humour. I love the outdoors, although I also like to take it easy sometimes.
I have a wide range of interests. These include history, especially learning about ancient civilisations and my own ancestry, languages and travel.
I like a wide range of music, from rock (not too heavy) to folk and classical. I've never really listened to jazz but I'm willing to be educated.
I love my grandchildren very much. I'm very proud of them and it is a great joy to watch them grow.
I don't like mean-mindedness and I try to see arguments from all sides, even if my opinion is different to the majority.
I enjoy travelling and discovering new things about different countries and cultures. Last year was Uzbekistan, this year was Georgia and Armenia. I also did a road trip to Dorset.
