I remember once a preacher came in to our school to give an assembly, and three pupils were taken up front to choose a gift out of three. Two were wrapped in sparkly, shiny paper, and the last in brown parcel paper. Being the last pupil called up, I had no choice but to pick the shabby parcel. The two others had pebbles in their parcels, and I had a packet of nick-nacks. An important lesson: I had to give the crisps back all the same.
