About him
I’ve had my fair share of adventures and have been lucky enough to live in some interesting and beautiful places. While that was exciting and left me with a few tales to tell, it taught me this: it doesn’t matter where I am, what I have, or who I’m with—life isn’t enough if I’m not present, appreciating what is and tending to my inner world.
These days, I’m semi-retired and moving at a slower, more intentional pace. I’m still open to discovery and exploration - mostly a state of mind I try to maintain. I’ve practiced meditation and yoga for 35 years (not obsessively) and, thankfully, I’m healthy and reasonably fit. I value self-reflection, emotional honesty, and the balance of a grounded, practical life. I’m a decent listener, creative, handy, and still carry a spark of the wild.
I love humour and find joy in conscious simplicity, especially on my narrowboat. I also appreciate sophistication and real quality (the non-performative kind).
Some of the things that light me up: animals (especially dogs), motorcycles, drumming, eastern philosophies/spirituality, music, narrowboats, drawing, walking/hiking, observing, Sufi poetry, ritual, and football. I’m learning German, enjoy fiction, and dabble at the intersection of psychology, spirituality, and myth—Johnson, Campbell, Bly.

I’m sociable and can mask fairly well, but lean slightly toward introversion: I enjoy solitude and also love being in good company. I see the world through a slightly esoteric, unconventional lens and... I can be quite conventional too. I care more about depth than status, and value generosity of spirit, emotional openness, free-spiritedness, and monogamy.
I’m self-motivated, yet able to flow, adapt, and simply be. Curious, friendly, reflective, kind, and emotionally present… most of the time.
