About him
Why should people get to know me? I have absolutely no idea! I've always tried to be likeable, personable, empathetic and fun and it seems to have worked in the past.
I have a wide and varied taste in all things; food, music, movies, books (although I'm not too keen on autobiographies), TV (with the exception of reality TV which I cannot stand), but I'm always open to trying new things... maybe... depending what it is... I mean, I draw the line at bush-tucker trials.
I imagine that the label "outgoing" would be agreed by most of my friends and acquaintances. But in reality, I'm probably more introverted. I'm not a fan of loud, extroverted, attention-grabbers. In social environments in the past, I tended to react in the opposite way to the group I was with. If the group was loud and outgoing, I'd take a backseat and join in if appropriate. And if the group was quiet and a little awkward, I'd try to be more out-going to make people feel more comfortable. But after separating from a 26 year relationship, I feel a little out of practice (We didn't go out much). I used to be very optimistic about life, but that optimism has dwindled over the past years for many reasons. Now, though, I want to make my way back to where I was.
Wanna help? Don't worry though. I would definitely not describe myself as needy. But I am a self-confessed humourist. I always try to find the "funny" although I never take things too far. It's an affliction, I afraid.
Trust is very important to me, from both sides. I am very trusting by nature, and try very hard to instil trust in others. Because I'm seen as a bit of a joker sometimes, I ALWAYS tell people that if I say "trust me", I mean it. I will never intentionally break a trust, and feel extremely hurt if someone takes advantage of my trust in them.

I'm looking for someone who is nurturing and willing to be nurtured, encouraging and willing to be encouraged, fun and willing to be loved, either just as a friend, or more. And I'm looking for someone who possesses beauty. Not necessarily physically (although I wouldn't mind, of course), but mentally and emotionally.
But mostly, someone who will forgive my bad jokes.
