Life has treated us all differently, and I was not always dull or unexciting, but I can attest that peaceful, loving living is SO much more enjoyable than a chaotic lifestyle, especially when you reach a certain age (cough!)
I am not sure I ever want to live with anyone again. I would describe myself as an accomplished and widely travelled, professional person who is still in work - which I enjoy, and at present, cannot imagine my life without. I was widowed as a young woman, but later enjoyed a long, happy relationship that ended without acrimony. I’ve always been drawn to intelligence and humour, far more than looks.
I would say that I am discerning, educated, quirky and friendly, also witty at times. I’ve lived enough life — in all its chaos, colour, heartbreak, and joy — to know that peace is not dull; it’s a hard‑won luxury. I wasn’t always calm or predictable, but I’ve grown into someone who values a loving, steady rhythm over turbulence.
I adore animals and have a young, wild cocker spaniel. I appreciate the Arts, and good conversation and am blessed to have a close friendship group, but I wasn’t fortunate enough to have a large family of my own, and I would love to be welcomed into an extended one - although this isn't essential.
However, I need someone who understands my need for independence, my work and my parental responsibilities. I also have many interests that make my life full, some of which could be shared.
This is me. It’s taken time to learn that, but I have a great deal of love, friendship, companionship, and kindness to offer the right person — someone with whom the connection feels mutual, respectful, and real.
