About her
I am a smart, creative and intelligent woman with one dependent dog and relatively modest baggage. I spend far too much time on work stuff and need more balance in my life, so I am turning my attention to more recreational pursuits including meeting up with an interesting man who is as sorted as anyone can be who has lived a life, and who finds pleasure in the various things which a reasonably successful woman carries with her in the world if not in her handbag. I like Verdi and Bach when I'm writing and Dave Brubeck, Elbow and the late lamented Leonard when I'm not. I'm a friend of the Tyneside and try and catch a movie at least once a month, and take in exhibitions and live gigs when the mood is upon me. I quite like cooking when I'm in the zone and like cycling in Jesmond Dene. I have a young dog, Frida, who is adorable and frustrating in equal measure but she makes me laugh 100 times a day. I'm a pretty positive person who is always glass half-full, a definite virtue in this current climate when it would be rather easy to be despondent about the future. What else? I am a twin and enjoy spending time with my sister, two grown-up daughters and granddaughters, all of whom bring immense joy to my life. I'm not much of TV-watcher but can get tempted by quality drama or a film that I missed seeing at the cinema.

I don't have fixed ideas about my ideal match and anyone who has been round the block a couple of times will know that we might think we have a 'type' to whom we are always attracted, but sometimes you just click with someone from left field. However, I am usually attracted to confident men who: are at ease with themselves; keep body and soul reasonably healthy; like the company of women; are kind to themselves; enjoy culture and the arts; have an interest in the world at large; appreciate good food but equally happy with a really fantastic tuna mayo on rye. But of course that's all just words if I get that goose-bumpy feeling when we meet, and you do too. Result!
