Back after a long break from the dating scene, having led the life of a bachelor. This time romance is not as important, but a female friend for company on days out, adventures and exploring, intelligent conversation, dinner or just a glass of Frascati. And, perhaps, if we are comfortable together some holidays abroad. Although, if cupid strikes…
Have not changed that much in recent years, a little older - my photographs were taken in December 2024 (Singapore if you are wondering why I am ‘glowing’). Remain a happy, optimistic sort of guy who likes the simple things in life. Once I would have been happy to go climb K2 - nowadays, I limit it to the Welsh mountains - although, I managed to break my ankle on one a few years back and am now pinned together with some impressive metalwork - you would not notice.
I have two great daughters. We are very close, but they live in Colorado Springs and Sydney. We speak regularly on the telephone, and I travel to see them as much as I can (including my gorgeous American granddaughter) but, of course, they have their own lives. They still keep me in check, and are keen for me to meet someone – probably to give them the latest gossip on their Dad!
Eclectic interests, enjoy poetry (Seamus Heaney, in particular), music (can listen to smooth jazz all day), art and literature, the theatre and cinema, ballet and opera. The occasional stay in London overnight to visit the galleries. Still like to potter in my pocket handkerchief of a garden and, do a bit of cooking - but it would be nice to do it with someone else.
First memories are of camel trains in the desert, have lived on a Belizean Cay, swum with dolphins, and trekked in the jungle. Enjoy walking on the nearby cliffs, in the local countryside, and further afield. Still items on the bucket list that need a tick!
Young-at-heart and try not to take life too seriously. Continue to work full-time, with no imminent plans to retire, but time off is not a problem. The wicked sense of humour is now very much mellowed!
