In His Own Words

About him

I'm interested in finding someone who enjoys exploring the media world & will tell me what have been their favourite new discoveries of the day in music, writings, film, tv. At the moment I am keen on the many interesting Youtube debates on atheism v religion.LIke John C. Lennox v Peter Atkins. I enjoy at least one tune by most composers but my favourite composers are Haydn, Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven sonatas, Bach, Scarlatti, Flook, John Williams, Ludivico Einaudi, Fats Waller, Madonna, Sugababes, Bootylov, John Lennon, Cher, Robbie Williams, The Who, Led Zepplin, Blue Oyster Cult, Boston, christian praise tunes (not the lyrics),Epic Score, Nightwish
Radio stations in order of most listened to, Classic FM, Radio 3 especially 'Early music show' & 'Jazz record requests', Radio 2 Graham Norton & Jeremy Vine, Radio Scotland Celtic music & pipeline.
I'm reading "The new rules of marriage" by Terrence Real who makes many good points.
I started out life in the Bibleverse but have left that wonderland fantasy since reading the brilliantly clever writings of authors Robert M Price, John W. Loftus, Valerie Tarico, Dan Barker, Ken Humphreys, Victor J. Stenger, Richard Dawkins, G.A. Wells, C. Dennis McKinsey, Bart Ehrman, Joseph Wheless, Bertrand Russell,Gary Greenberg, Israel Finkelstein, Wallace Budge, James Frazer, Robert G Ingersoll, Mark Twain, Thomas Paine, Nietzsche, Monty Python. The fact of evolution means that Abrahamic religions are mostly fiction. My current hypothesis says there is probably no supernatural realm to worry about & anyway a loving good God would make an ok outcome. I expect to cease to exist at death or have something nice happen. I have faith in the idea of treating others as you want them to treat you or as they want to be treated i.e The Golden Rule. To aim to be caring & look for the good in people while still being on guard against nonsense or harmful influences'. I'm a post christian, univeralist, born again ethical atheist

About his ideal match

I'd be happy to find Ms Average. I'm hoping to find a woman who aims to be caring, respectful, constructive & helpful in their comments. Someone who comments on the specific action / idea in question in terms of their emotions / feelings. A woman who is likely to say, ' I strongly disagree with that opinion you voiced, for the following reasons...' rather than, 'I hate you, fool'. A woman who who might choose to say, ' I hate what you did there, I think you shouldn't have done that...it would have been better to do this... for the following reasons...', rather than one who says, 'I hate you, you stupid twit'. I hope to find a woman who can debate all the pros and cons of an argument and who realises that it is possible to reach more than one reasonable conclusion due to the fact that people prioritise differently. Or that in some debates no clear conclusion can be reached, except that it is important to understand the whole argument.
I would enjoy hearing, 'How amazing, I enjoyed that, I'm impressed, well done, I loved it, I liked it, it thrilled me'
I hope to find someone who has a forgiving attitude. I understand that people swear at times of stress. It doesn't bother me.
I want to find someone whose voice I would enjoy to hear in the long term. I've come to accept that there are some voices like certain radio DJs that I just don't want to listen to, no matter what they were to say. Millions might enjoy that voice but I don't, sorry. It's just the chemisty.
If you're listening to the football results, I'll be listening to music via earphones . Maybe you would like to join me for a game of badminton or table tennis, skiing or a walk in the country / birdwatching or around the shops or travel the world via flickr.
