About him
I am an average looking man and am of a quiet and level headed disposition seeking a soulmate for long rather than short term. I worked part-time in local government and have just retired (June 2012). Other than music in which I'm actively involved as an amateur my interests include photography, walking, cycling, canal restoration - this latter may take off a bit when I retire, the local cathedral. I would eat out more if I had someone to dine with. I have been described as a "sweetie" - whatever that's supposed to mean! My musical tastes aren't solely classical - I remember the 1960s pop scene very well and years ago I played piano in a small dance band. Oh yes, I like dancing as well.

I am looking for compatibility of interests but not necessarily exactly the same as mine. We all need a degree of indpendence from each other. Obviously an interest or at least an appreciation of music would be advantageous. A good conversation without being stilted over a meal in a reasonably quiet atmosphere would constitute a good first date.
