About him
I am an active and outgoing person, enjoying retirement after a long teaching career. I am regarded by my friends as witty and people tell me they find me fun to be with. I particularly enjoy socialising with friends and family and one of my two children lives locally. I have 5 lovely granddaughters and I like to see them as much as I can.
I like most types of music and am a good amateur keyboard musician. I accompany a local choral society several times a year for their concert performances. I enjoy the theatre and stage musicals and perform in an amateur dramatic society. Country walks and the outdoors are also important to me and I love visiting historic buildings. I enjoy a round of golf and an occasional swim which help me to keep fit.
I have travelled widely and lived in Canada for a year on a teaching exchange. I love travelling and want to find someone who can share that passion with me. I like to visit both exotic locations and to tour Europe and Britain. While I am not averse to beach holidays, there would need to be some exploration of the local area involved as well.
I want to find someone who appreciates interesting and amusing conversation, who can share some of my interests (but not necessarily all) and perhaps introduce me to some of theirs.

I don't want to be too prescriptive, because I believe that many people can be compatible despite their interests. Its much more about personality. I am looking for someone who enjoys music and theatre and can share my love of travel. Someone I can trust, who is open and honest about their feelings.
