About her
I would like to think of myself as a gentle person; one who cares about her fellow creatures; I live alone and enjoy my own company.
I have a wide circle of women friends but it would be nice to have some male company to go to the cinema, theatre, out for a meal etc.
I often think that a world without music, books, love, laughter, family, friendship, the sights, sounds and tastes of the world, would make life very hard to endure.
I don't care for people with loud voices or are uncomfortable with silence, nor people who are unkind or mean spirited, bear grudges or sulk.
I have a varied taste in reading; fiction, ( NOT chick lit!!) biographies, I've currently got a couple of books on the go: The Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Daemon.
I love my small garden, and spend a lot of time there, just sitting, looking, listening. I love to cook for friends and make Rocky Road slices for favourite people.
I like to make greetings cards for friends but alas, I don't always have time.
I've just finished writing a book for each of two of my grandchildren and have started another for the third child.

If I had to choose some works of literature to sum up how I try to live my life, I would say Kipling's "If", John Donne's "No Man is an Island" and Burke's "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men (I'd like to think that were he alive today, he would have added 'and women'!!!) to do nothing"

About her ideal match
My ideal match? someone who is calm, quietly spoken, confident; well balanced, without being a "beige" person. Someone who doesn't take himself too seriously, resourceful, sensitive.
A man who is passionate about something, be it a hobby, a sport, a humanitarian/ justice / animal issue, but not obsessive!
A man who is sufficiently happy in himself to be looking for someone to complement him, rather than shore him up.
I'm looking for someone who likes me for the person I am, rather than the person that they think I should be.
AND the wild card is..Da Da: someone who can make me laugh.

I'm not passionate about them but I do Yoga and Pilates a couple of times a week, I go out on my bike when the weather permits. I don't freak out if my hair gets wet. I don't like shopping, tho' I cannot pass a bookshop without going inside.
I'm passionate about giving the local wildlife a helping hand during Winter and Spring (no, I am NOT referring to Liverpool or Everton football supporters!) the birds, and the urban foxes that come to my door each evening. I spend a fortune on mealworms, to help the poor birds working endlessly, foraging for insects for their nestlings.
I can be funny sometimes, as a matter of fact, I did a few stand up comedy nights, a couple of years ago, just for the hell of it. It went well, but I was sensible enough to observe the old adage "always leave them laughing" so I quit whilst I was still making them laugh.
I'm loyal, I have integrity, I'm non judgemental, easy going, I don't shout or lose my temper.
I hate crowds and pop concerts because I hate the way people stand up and join in with the artist, why DO they do it|? Why don't they stay home and dance and sing to a DVD, thereby saving themselves 100 squid?
I appreciate courtesy, good communication, thoughtfulness I'd like that I have these qualities myself!
