Hi, I'm Martyn
I'm originally from Brighton but for the last 12 years I have been living in Trujillo in Extremadura (a beautiful rural part of Spain that most people have never heard of or visited) running my own business there but I have now moved back to Sussex. No, I haven't fallen out of love with Extremadura but I have 4 children in Sussex and 6 grandchildren so I want to be a more available Grandad. I now live in Bexhill right on the seafront, close enough to my children but not too close!
But I continue running my business in Spain and I fly out there every six weeks or so - the best of both worlds!
I'm positive, optimistic, I enjoy life even though I am on my own; but how much better life would be with the right person to share it with.
I enjoy good company (especially that feeling of connection with the right person), good food, eating out, sitting in the square with a cold drink watching the world go by and contemplating the meaning of life, reading my Kindle, travel, current affairs, good conversation, history of the First World War, researching my family history and following the fortunes of Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club.
And no, football is not the reason for coming back to the U.K.! I had 12 great years in Spain but I just felt the time was right to come back to UK. Time to enjoy life back in Sussex and to be close to the sea again.

Someone who enjoys the good things in life, copes with the bad, and smiles - smiling is good! Someone who is positive and happy in her own skin but who likes having someone else to enjoy life with, to laugh with, to travel with, and generally just to be with.
Someone with her own interests that she can introduce me to and also take part in mine. And no, I won't drag you to a football match, unless you want to come! Probably someone with children and/or grandchildren of her own, although if you don't have any you can always borrow mine, I have enough for us both!
But most of all, a partner. That may not sound very romantic but I don't mean it that way, romance and chemistry are very important - essential, in fact. But someone to share life with; the good bits, the bad bits and all the bits in between. As the man said, for better or for worse.
Grandchildren and children are great and I wouldn't be without them. But a partner would make life even better.
