About him
My friends would describe me as an extremely generous person, who is kind, conscientious, and is always there for them. I don't particularly like very loud mouthy people, but am not looking necessarily, for a shrinking violet.
I am a widower of 18 months, who is very organised and independant. I have a small cocker spaniel, Maisie, who is now 11 years old, and who keeps me grounded i.e. I walk her 3 times each day. The exercise does us both good.
I have discovered Cunard cruises this year, and it is my intention, funds permitting, to see quite a bit of the World. My hobbies are walking the woofer, and making things out of wood. I enjoy a drink with family and friends, and this is frequently in the bar in my garden. My outlook on life is bright. Having been widowed quite recently (my Wife was 66) my intention is to do all those things that we never got round to doing.
About his ideal match
My ideal match would be someone with a good sense of humour, who is independant both emotionally and financially. She would be 5' 6" tall with average measurements. Colour of hair and such, is not important.
The relationship will work if the first sentence works out. I am not looking to find someone to marry, but someone to enjoy life with. I would not move from my present house, as I am very settled, with good neighbours, in a lovely village. I do not organise my life around a computer, so texting or e-mailing for weeks is not my scheme. I am quite happy to meet someone immediately, and assess the situation. I feel I can judge someone during a meal and few drinks, and know if there is any future in the relationship. A deal breaker would be someone arriving for a date, with no make-up and in scruffy clothes. This would be completely out of place on a cruise liner!
