About him
The prompt question asks "How would your friends describe your personality?" I suppose they would describe me as a kind, caring, generous and loving person who is fun to be around. I would also like to think I am a traditional gentleman who knows how to treat a lady!
I love all types of music and have a really diverse taste from rock, pop, jazz, blues, country but I particularly enjoy classical music, especially baroque and choral. Favourite bands/artistes are Mumford and Sons, The Script, Simon and Garfunkel, Eva Cassidy, Joe Jackson, Don McLean, Police, Squeeze, Deacon Blue to name just a few! I have played a few instruments in the past but the piano is my favourite and I still enjoy spending a bit of time tinkling the ivories.
I love walking at the weekends and am never happier than walking in the Lakes or Yorkshire Dales followed by a nice meal or just a drink in a country pub.I also enjoy cooking and fine dining.
I also like all sports including cricket, tennis and I am involved in a local football club, recently playing half a game in a charity match, I survived to tell the tale! I am a member of the National Trust and enjoy architecture and visiting castles and stately homes.
I am currently a Trainer/Consultant specialising in things like First Aid, Health and Safety, Fire Safety amongst other subjects. I previously spent 34 years in the Fire and Rescue Service, finishing in a managerial role. I have one daughter aged 22 who stays with me occasionally.
I love holidays and weekends away chilling away from work and I also enjoy meals out with a nice glass of wine or two! I would love to meet someone who shares my zest for life and my interests but I am always willing to try new experiences.
