About him
Welcome, dear reader, to the short piece of self-promotional blather that we all know is very important, but most of us find very hard to do. I believe that the more open and straightforward you are the harder it is to write something positive about yourself. Modesty, after all, forbids a virtuoso performance in blowing your own trumpet.
I stepped away from my career as an engineering manager to look after my disabled father. After several quite intense but strangely rewarding years, I find myself alone and now want to find that special lady to share all the beauties, joys and laughter that life should hold.
I have decided, now I have time, to follow a long cherished dream and have embarked on a writing career (3 books so far with at least two to come this year).
I'm basically quiet, but fun loving. I love cooking and long conversations. I enjoy seeing new places and learning new things.
I believe that my bad habits are few and minor, but they would present an interesting project for any lady who wishes to engage in partner renovation.
My sense of humour is quirky and I have a penchant for quite appalling puns.
My pets: a golden Labrador, ginger tom and, a Bengal tom are important to me and I enjoy having animals in my life.
I like spending time with family and friends.
I work as a volunteer at one of our historic buildings, a role that I enjoy as it combines my love of history with my enjoyment of storytelling.
I'm probably happiest walking the dog through the New Forest or over the Purbecks (Jurassic Coast if you don't know the area) and then a pub meal or a picnic.
