About her
I'm a passionate person, warm and caring, bright, energetic and sophisticated, but also really down to earth and funny with it - so my friends tell me.
Music has always played an important part in my life. It lifts my spirit and makes me feel alive.
My love affair with opera started when I found myself on stage as a pageboy in a production of Verdi's Macbeth (I fitted the costume). It's a long story, which I'll tell you more about if you're interested, but it was the start of a different career from the one I'd planned.
It would be wonderful to share this passion with that someone special in my life, but this isn't a deal breaker.
I also love open, wild places and would always choose a country walk, unless of course I'm on a city break with lots of sights to see. Life, of course , is rather restricted at the moment, but I'm thinking about braving public transport soon and visiting a gallery or the BM.
I'm a regular listener of Radio 4 and Radio 3, which keeps me up to date with everything I'm interested in, but I also really appreciate silence, settling down with a good book or pottering in my small garden.
I can be really vibrant, am a good conversationalist , but also a really good listener. I have delivered two courses in Mindfulness during the 'time of Covid', using Zoom. This was quite challenging at first but extremely rewarding and kept the little grey cells active.
Another pleasure of mine is cooking and there's nothing I enjoy more than trying out new recipes and sharing a meal with friends or family. Not so easy recently, but I organised 3 virtual dinner parties during lockdown, which were a lot of fun.
However, being in a sharing and loving relationship, wherever that might be, is what I'm really hoping to find.
p.s. My photos were taken in November 2016 and I look much the same, I think. Regular Nordic Pole Walking has kept me fit.
About her ideal match
I'm hoping to meet someone who doesn't take life too seriously: an ability to laugh at oneself and the ridiculous situations we can sometimes find ourselves in, is so important, in my opinion.
I am looking for a kind, tactile and loving man who has personal integrity, and - if he's a good cook, or even a passable one, he'd make his lady very happy. A walking companion would be wonderful as well, although I do walk regularly with a local group.
I also hope he's the sort of man who enjoys music, the arts in general and spending time with family and friends. If he's easy to talk to and can make me laugh as well, that would be an added bonus.
