I'm catching up on my Scottish heritage by going back each year to different places ... islands if possible. I got to Orkney and Shetland in '19 by car and was so so lucky with the weather. Had several days in North Ronaldsay and also saw Muckle Flugga. Great memories. But I must go back to visit Maeshowe and see The Old Man of Hoy. In June 17 I got to Coll and Tiree and stayed in the hostels with a lot of other mature travellers, to find a Corncrake and enjoy the beaches and August '18 I made it to Mull to just see things and birds and hear silence and on my way home I stopped in Callander because it's Callander ( didn't see the girls! Nor did I find a Coll girl the year before) This year it’s Findhorn.
I golf when I'm not birdwatching or pottering in garden or painting the house or looking after grand-children or dreaming or cooking or baking bread or listening to music (Jazz to classical ) or sleeping. I never go to the cinema .....I'd fall asleep in minutes but I'd go to watch/hear live music in pub or hall or support our local am dram group where I spent many happy years. Our local U3A has a great selection of things to do.
I meet with Compo and Clegg on Saturdays at the local football match and usually miss the goals as someone has a tale to tell.
But Covid has changed it all. Next year will be different on this planet
