About him
Someone once said (don't they usually!) that having a successful relationship means one person has to love the other more. I've had experience of that and I believe it's true. The balance shifts of course, it has to, but as long as one partner holds the flame of love high, until the other recovers, it doesn't matter. Good partnerships have peaks and troughs which are recognised and dealt with so you can move on. It's not a case of two people merging but two people helping each other to grow in such a way that they become not one, but much more.

Like most men I need to be reassured that the partner I care for cares for me. I don't need to be told constantly 'I love you' but the woman I love should be able to show affection in a natural way, by small things, touch, smiles, spontaneous hugs, hand holding...I guess I am more romantic than I thought! She should be a good communicator, unafraid to share her thoughts if it matters to her. Enjoying a wide range of music and the pleasure of travel. A sense of culture and a love for the outdoors as well as knowing when to relax. Perhaps a writer? A photographer? An artist? Maybe even someone who enjoys building and making things. Above all perhaps she should be able to present herself as simply elegant ... to be able to command attention and be alert to the world as we navigate our way through it together.
