About her
I enjoy travel and want a man to share the enjoyment of seeing and exploring this country and further afield. I appreciate a wide range of music, cooking, gardening, books, theatre, history and sport. I'm definitely a 'people person' with lots of friends but am looking for male company - companionship first then see what happens - from someone like-minded. Friends say I have a good sense of fun and of fairness, that I'm quite a capable person of above average intelligence, but I still like a man to be a gentleman!
I've been a nurse, then an academic researching medical history, and was fortunate in having 41 years of very happy marriage, was widowed in 2016 but am now ready to move forward. I have lovely children - both happily married and with their own children, and see them as often as I can. I consider loyalty, kindness, and a sense of humour to be amongst my most important qualities and those I'm looking for in a partner, but I am also quite a good cook and a reasonably practical person. I have a positive outlook on life and there are lots of things I would like to do and places I would like to see in this country and abroad with someone special.

My ideal man would be someone who shares a sense of fun, and who is kind, reliable and intelligent but not with a big ego! Someone either younger than me or about the same age - mature but not over-ripe! I'd like someone to enjoy things like the theatre, a meal out or just to spend time with and possibly to holiday with - having spent quite a lot of time in South Africa, I would also like to see more of Europe and Scandinavia and although I could do this on my own or with women friends, would prefer to do so as a couple! If companionship leads to romance that would be OK but certainly not high priority!
