About her
Well..let's see: I'm open-minded - like: cooking, gardening, walking, reading, wild-life, animals, keeping fit, but most of all...music (most types). I speak passable French and rusty Spanish, have also been learning Italian for years, have rusty Spanish . I don't think I could live in a city, have lived in rural areas for years and love it.
I enjoy socialising but need quiet time. I tend to be a thinker, someone who reflects rather than rushing out and joining in activities but I do belong to several 'groups' all of which I enjoy very much so maybe I'm turning into someone else as I get older? Would love to learn to dance the Argentine tango and learn to play the piano. But am also happy curled up on the sofa with a good book, maybe with a glass of wine to hand in the evenings.
Have always enjoyed cooking but it isn't inspiring if just for myself.
Favourite film: The English Patient, Dances with Wolves are strong contenders.
Music....I love choral works, also early music, Bach's St Matthew Passion, the Requiems...also opera - 'Tosca' especially.
What can I offer?..I would be a loyal friend and more, who would be happy to listen but would expect the same in return, when necessary...I'm warm and kind (I hope!) and passionate about what I take to heart.
Am extremely concerned about global warming and do what I can on a personal level - but admit I'd feel lost without my car.
Have recently bought new walking boots but lack someone to walk with - Wainwright loved walking alone but I don't. Just one companion needed - not a crowd, heaven forbid :)

I would like to meet someone who is intelligent, articulate, communicative, open, kind, passionate and loving - who shares my sometimes black sense of humour at the absurdity of life but who can see its beauty, also. Who listens to people and listens to music. Who appreciates words, both written and spoken.
It would be wonderful to get to know someone who has room for romance and warmth . Someone who is as happy to sit quietly or to share a meal with a few friends.
Am still a flower-power child at heart, even if my spiritual petals are slightly wilted, so wouldn't know what to do with someone with an 'old' outlook on life...am not ready for a total pipe and slippers chap, I admit.
